Pineapple Growing

Aloha Pineapple Trio

Aloha, our trip to Hawaii brought out the Pineapple in me! Love Pineapple and although not seasonal in North American, the Hawaiian pineapple in stores is definitely more juicy. Our pineapple trio takes a turn on traditional salsa and when cutting a pineapple the versatility for more dishes has inspired our P1 and P2.

Stuffed Chicken Pockets

You may be starting to see a trend in this book when it comes to what meats we choose to eat. We have all spent a great deal of time coming up with tasty and economical poultry dishes as our main meat dishes while incorporating the occasional splurge with beef and new ways to enjoy fish. Stuffing chicken breasts gives the chicken a ton of flavour and also springs us into our next two dishes by using the leftovers for Chicken Salad Bowls and Chicken Caesar Salad.

Black Bean Chili

Family Chili Trio

Chili has become a staple winter meal, often something we throw in the slow cooker before leaving for work in the morning. But have you ever thought about how to take the extra and actually turn them into another meal? We love this combination because it gives you the flexibility to use meat or make it vegetarian. By doubling the Cook Once Chili recipe, you can set up two more meals; Mexican Lasagna and Sloppy Joes!

Green Beans

Glorious Green Beans

There’s a reason the Jolly Green Giant loves green beans; they are a powerhouse! Green beans are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese. Plus green beans are a very good source of vitamin A (carotenoids including beta-carotene), dietary fiber, potassium, folate, and iron. Growing them is easy. You can plant in the garden or in pots and the yield is high. Kids love to pick the beans and eat them right off the plants!
